Bald Worm’s Recipe for Writing a Superb 11+ Story

These kids all need to learn about story structure. You need to think about approaching story writing as you would baking a lovely cake. You need to make sure that you include all the right ingredients, and to make sure you do, you’ll should follow a recipe until you get really confident.

This is Bald Worm’s recipe for writing a story in the 11+ exams:

Start with a line of exciting direct speech or an intriguing statement
Set the scene
Have some talking and Describe one of the characters
More talking, and lots of feelings and thoughts
Build Suspense
Exciting action
Finishing on a cliffhanger
